STPI Bhagalpur centre inaugurated
Software Technology Parks of India opened a centre in Bhagalpur on 13 March 2024, on 2 acres near the government ITI provided by the Bihar government. PIB put the project cost at about Rs 11 crore for about 10,016 sq ft of incubation space, with 110 plug-and-play seats and a network operations centre. It was STPI's 65th centre and its second operational centre in Bihar after Patna. The Centre had approved it, together with Darbhanga, by February 2021.

What's confirmed
6 facts backed by sources

- The Bihar government provided 2 acres near the Government ITI for the centre (PIB).
- Project cost about Rs 11 crore; about 10,016.48 sq ft of IT-grade incubation space on the ground and first floors; 110 plug-and-play seats on the ground floor and a network operations centre (PIB).
- PIB called it STPI's 65th centre and its second operational centre in Bihar after Patna.
- The Government had approved STPI centres at Darbhanga and Bhagalpur by 10 February 2021 (Lok Sabha Starred Q.121).

4 things to watch for
- The seat count. PIB gave 110 plug-and-play seats at opening; the Rajya Sabha answer of December 2025 gives 94. The difference is not explained.
- Occupancy, and the number of startups or companies incubated at Bhagalpur. The March 2026 figure of 12 incubated companies and about 366 jobs covers all three Bihar centres.
- Dainik Jagran's headline describes a 'Rs 165 crore' software park, a figure a local politician attributed to an earlier announcement. PIB gives a project cost of about Rs 11 crore, so the Rs 165 crore figure is not used.
- When the centre was first approved. The February 2021 answer says only that it had been approved by then.
